Jesus is the Answer

Jesus is the Answer
I preached this message in Maswa, Tanzania, East Africa, 2008; it has been reworked in a word processor, to make it more comprehensive, and for better understanding, some thoughts were added.
It is nice looking around, and seeing so many people with smiles on their faces; I can tell you love Jesus, and I know Jesus loves you. You are a very special people, and God has a very special calling on each of your lives. God wants you to get very close to Him; and to fulfill all that He would have you do, requires that you to get real close to Him, and as a result you will also be, very close to each other.
People who get real close to God: have a deep sense of Love, Joy, and Peace, which are the most important tools that people need, to fulfill the calling that God has on their lives. Jesus said, “You are the light of the world: a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid”; the Love, Joy, and Peace that God puts into our lives, are like lights on a hill, that show those who live in darkness the way.
You people have a tremendous opportunity: you are lights in this city, and if you spend the time with God, you will learn to Love these people intensely: the Love, Joy, and Peace you have will make you a great light, that will spread through this city, Tanzania, and throughout the world. People think to themselves, I am poor, I can’t go around the world, and preach the Gospel; but you have God and faith, and there is nothing you can’t do.
Psalm 63: 1, “O God, you are my God; early will I seek you: my soul thirsts for you, my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is”; I am sure you can understand what it is like, to not have enough water (a dry thirsty land): David said his soul and flesh, thirsts for God, just like a man gets very thirsty when he is in a hot dry place, and has no water.
David says here that, he will seek God early: This seems to be characteristic of all great men in the Bible; they knew the value of meeting with God early, before the distractions of the day begin. Do you want to be great in God’s Kingdom? Do you want to do a great work for God? Learn this secret: be diligent to set aside a time every day to meet with God, especially a time with as few distractions as possible; usually early in the morning.
Jesus said, “The Son of Man can do nothing, but what He sees His Father do”; He was wiser than any man on earth, yet He needed time spent with the Father, and so do we. Jesus usually met with His Father, early in the morning, but at times He spent all night. If you are dedicated to doing all God’s will, then Jesus is the only example given for you to follow; sometimes weak baby Christians, are given a man to follow, but for us it would be idolatry: Paul said in Galatians that, even the Apostles added nothing to him.
You may think you know how you are to do the things you need to do tomorrow; but I tell you that unless God is filling and leading you, your day will be mostly wasted.
Psalm 63: 2, “To see your power and glory so as I have seen you in the sanctuary”; David says, he wants to see God’s power and glory, just as he has seen it in church. When you are in church, raising your hands, Praising, and worshipping God, a certain amount of God’s power is being released, and the closer each person there, is to God: the more of God’s power will be released.
King David at that time was: the most powerful man in the world, and he ruled over the most powerful nation on the earth. David had a very powerful army, and he had defeated many other armies: no nation could stand before him. David’s power did not come by chance; but the secret of his success, was his diligence to meet with God.
One of the great points of history was that: when a man led the nation away from God, it became weak and could not stand before its enemies, and when a man led the nation back to God, it became strong: this same thing will happen in individuals, in churches, and in nations today: our power is always found in Jesus Christ, and our destruction is found without Him. No man can ever become great in God’s sight, without spending time with God regularly.
Everyone here can become great, and God wants to make you great; it will happen, if you meet regularly with God, in full surrender and commitment to Him, and in all His dealings: no one is too old, too young, too rich, or too poor, the wrong color, the wrong sex, if they will meet the conditions. Everyone here has a great calling, and through diligence, can make a very great effect on the world.
All around here I find people who want to be Christians; all they need are dedicated Christians to lead them to Christ, and tell them how to daily meet with God, so they also can know, and do God’s will. I caution you to be careful not to do too much leading in their lives: just as you don’t know the way without meeting with God for yourself, neither do you know the way for them; teach them how to hear directly from God, and both of you will go the right way: don’t ever think you can do for someone else, what you cannot even do for yourself.
Meet with God, let His Love, Joy, Peace, and Contentment so shine forth that your radiant face will just draw them into the Kingdom: it is very dark in this city, and even a little light will shine and bring some in; but let it burst forth in radiance, and bring many into the Kingdom. I want to come back, and when I come back, I want to see many big churches, until this whole city bursts forth in radiant light.
Many years ago I was lost in sin and darkness: in everything I tried, nothing satisfied me, and when I looked at the future, all I could see was darkness and blackness; I knew some Christians who had a little light, but still they had a hope for the future, which I wanted. I was in so much darkness that, even a little light from a few Christians impressed me; but a big light would almost certainly have brought me to God a lot sooner.
I have determined that the light in me, will be bright, and that no one will have to wonder where peace, joy, and satisfaction come from: they will see those things in me, and will want the same Jesus I have. I intend to so build up God’s people, that everyone will see the power of the sanctuary (the people of God). We have a song we sing in America: “Lord Prepare Me to be a Sanctuary”; I pray, Lord build your Sanctuary, may the whole world see your power and glory.
The people of this world need to see that, Jesus is the answer, God’s people need to go to Jesus till they are filled with Peace, Joy, Love, Contentment, Happiness, and Power: the whole world needs to see those things in God’s people. Too often God’s people get tied up with the world; argue and fight with one another; try to rule over one another; seek to be entertained; and reject each other, if they think, or act differently than they themselves, and all the time the world sees little, or even almost no light at all.
My Bible says that Jesus is the way, the truth, the life, the alpha and the omega, guide, teacher, our wisdom, understanding, knowledge, health, strength, healer, strong and high tower, shield, exceeding great reward and the list can go on into infinity: if Jesus is all those things to me, then I don’t need to find them in any other person; and I don’t need to be those things, to anyone else, I only need to lead them to Jesus, and they will have everything they need, without me telling them what to do.
I avoid ruling over anyone, I set everyone free: if a person seems to want to be with me, then I also go toward them; but if they don’t want to be around me, I move away and let them alone, allowing them to go their own way; my desire is to connect everyone with Jesus, rather than with me: (I cast my crown at Jesus’ feet); but I reject no one: I accept everyone. My acceptance of people is completely apart from their performance: they do not need to do anything, to be perfectly accepted by me; if Jesus accepts them, I accept them; but I will always work to bring them to Jesus, their only answer.
When I see a person that is a prostitute, a druggy, had many marriages, is into cars, clothes, houses, entertainment or whatever; I know they are only looking for satisfaction in earthly things: they are perfectly acceptable with me (not their life style); but they will find their answer only in Jesus, the satisfier of every need. The human heart is an infinite hole, and there is no earthly thing that can fill it, nor can earthly things take up any room in it: no matter what you put in it, it will be just as infinite as before; only the infinite God, can ever fill the infinite heart.
Unfortunately many Christians are going after the same things that the world is, and they are little if any light, to the world around them; such Christians have little of the Peace, Joy, and the contentment that is found only in meeting with Jesus Christ. We need to be so filled with Jesus: that His attributes flow out of us like a river.
Jesus was going through Samaria, and He stopped at Jacob’s well, and the disciples went into town to buy bread; a Samaritan woman, came to the well to draw water, and Jesus asked her for a drink; she was amazed that He a Jew, would ask a Samaritan woman for a drink. Jesus was using something she was interested in, to draw her to Him, the only source of fulfillment. The Samaritan woman asked Jesus, why He a Jew would ask her a Samaritan woman for a drink; but Jesus answered her, that if she knew the gift of God, and who it was that asked a drink, she would have asked of Him, and He would have given her living water.
The Samaritan woman said, you have nothing to draw with, where are you going get it? Jesus said if you drink this water, you will thirst again, but whoever drinks the water I give, will never thirst again. The Samaritan woman wanted this living water; but Jesus told her to go get her husband, and she said, she didn’t have one; then Jesus told her that she had five husbands, and was now living with her boy friend.
The Samaritan woman tried six times, to find satisfaction in a man, and what Jesus was referring to was, that no matter how many times you try that water, you will always thirst again. Every man or woman that gets married, finds out that their marriage partner, cannot satisfy them; so many of them go look for another one, and they never will find one that can satisfy them, no matter how many times they try, the heart is an infinite hole, and can only be filled, or satisfied by God.
I want to say to all Christians: if you seek for satisfaction in Jesus first, then your partner will be satisfying; but it can only be done through Jesus. Never look for another marriage partner, because, no one can satisfy but Jesus, and it will only create enormous problems for you, and your family.
You as a Christian have available, all the attributes of God, and can have a testimony that leads people to Jesus; but if you get enamored with the world, not only will you be unhappy, but you will have a difficult time leading anyone, to their place of happiness. Meet with God regularly, and let the river of God flow out of you, and meet other people’s need for Jesus, He is their only source of happiness, peace, and contentment.
You now have the information you need to lead this whole city to Jesus, and make this city a light to the nation, to the continent, to the world. The time spent with Jesus, gives you the power to meet the peoples need; the whole world is waiting to see the power of the sanctuary; but the Christians who are enamored with the world can’t even get themselves healed, or even get their own needs met.
Isaiah 40: 31, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they walk and not faint”: Everything a Christians need spirit, soul, and body will be met by waiting on the Lord; and there will be plenty left, to meet the needs of others.
Psalm 63: 3, “Because your lovingkindness, is better than life, my lips shall praise you”; when you see God’s acceptance of the greatest of sinners, then you will begin to understand how the mercy of God is greater than anything of this life: God’s mercy goes on forever, but this life is only for a short time; this same mercy will flow out of the one, who makes God his refuge, and into the lives of all they touch. The mercy of God can flow out of you, and meet the need of the vilest of sinners: there is no depth of sin, and degradation that mercy of God cannot reach.
The one, who spends much time with God, will practice kindness over and over, till they can do nothing else: when Jesus died on the cross, He had practiced Love and Kindness, He could do nothing else. When a person practices Love and Kindness: even in the most trying of circumstances, the very first thing that comes up is always Love and Kindness; in fact it will flow out of him like a river, the very nature of such a man, is a praise to God.
Psalm 63: 4-6, “Thus will I bless you, while I live: I will lift up my hands in your name”. “My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise you with joyful lips; when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the night watches”. Fatness in verse five indicates that when God meets your need, He does it in abundance: He does it so we may go out and meet the needs of others as well. God wants us to believe Him for big things.
David not only sought God early, but also meditated on Him on his bed. What made David so great was, his recognition of his need for God, and his diligent search for Him, even in the night watches: the more you think about God, the more you will be changed, and the more you will be able to help others.
Psalm 34: 10, “The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord; shall not want any good thing”: the more you seek the Lord; the more God will bless you, with what you need. How many of you believe that the Bible is true? Do you really believe this verse is true? Do you really believe that when it says, they that seek the Lord; shall not want any good thing that, it means what it says? The Bible says in Hebrews 6 that, God cannot lie. God never put anything into the Bible; that is not absolutely true.
There is not anything in the Bible; that is not absolutely true. All that you need is, all within reach: all you need is, to seek the Lord. If you wake up in the morning and say, I am sleepy, I will just sleep a little longer, and then when you finally get up, it is too late: the others are up; breakfast is being made; and it is time to go to work, so you skip your time with God: you just exercised yourself into poverty; because you skipped the most important thing of the day, virtually your whole day was lost.
Spiritual laws work the same as natural laws: if you fall over a cliff, and die on the rocks below, it doesn’t matter if you fell by accident, was pushed, or jumped on purpose, you are just as dead either way. Paul said in Romans 5: 13, 14 that sin was not imputed to man from Adam to Moses, because there was no law, nevertheless death reigned: just because you may not have known the cliff was there, does not mean you didn’t die when you hit the rocks below; it only means that fault was not applied to you.
You may not have known the great need, for time with God, and you may not be at fault; but your poverty will still reign, just as though you had done it on purpose. Spiritual laws are very important, and when you violate them: (even if you don’t know it), you can get physically sick; have a nervous breakdown, poverty, lack of victory, and many other maladies.
I recommend all of you decide to be failures no longer; take the steps to make sure you get up in the morning, to meet with God; and build a sound profitable future. God has an infinite supply of: money, houses, lands, clothes and whatever you need; just don’t spend it on your own lusts and passions; because then God will not give them to you: they are to meet your need, and build the Kingdom.
Believing these things are only good, if you take action: it is like a brick on the floor, it does not do anybody any good, as long as it is on the floor, you only stumble over it; but when it is laid in the wall, and cemented in place, with obedience, then it becomes a very valuable part of the wall: your obedience, will make your faith useful, and profitable. When God’s people walk in faith, believing God, and obedience, then, we will see the real power of the sanctuary.
Jesus said that He came to give us life, and that more abundantly: He didn’t come to just give us an existence; barely enough to make it through; just one meal a day; a cardboard shack over our heads; He wants us to have enough, and to minister to many others as well. I believe God wants you to believe Him for a big piece of land; to put a big church on it; and go introduce many in Maswa to Jesus; grow them up in close contact with Jesus, and then go get more of them.
Don’t look at how few shillings you have, but use them for God, looking at how many more God has. God wants you to prosper; but if you use your money, only on yourself, then you will remain in poverty. If you can only think, of what you want, and of what you can get: don’t expect God to give you much; but if your concern is for the people of this city, and how you may glorify God, then believe for biggest thing you can think of.
You are each very special. You each have a very special calling from God. God is waiting for you to arise in faith, doing the very will of God. You will be limited only by your lack of faith, not by your lack of funds. God’s supply is infinite, and all it takes is faith, to receive all you need.
Don’t think you are humble because you are so small: that is just another form of pride; Humility is when a man does not look to himself, but to Jesus for everything: a humble man may be the richest man around, but he uses it all for the Lord.
I find many of you, look to people overseas to meet your needs: you will stay in poverty, always just barely getting by; but if you will quit looking to others, and only look to God, you will soon be wealthy, and will have enough to do all God wants you to do. God wants you to be the head, and not the tail: the head always knows where to go, but the tail only follows others; the head produces the resources, but the tail receives its resources from others.
I thank you for your time, and May God Bless You, as You arise in Faith, and do all His will.
